Paying off your HELB (Higher Education Loans Board) loan is crucial for several reasons.  It's for the above reasons that I have decided to write this post to help you adhere with The Kenyan Government detective on Payment of Government services ( HELB included)via one digital payment unit - E-citizen Paybill Number 222222. 

Here is the step by step procedure on how to easily pay your HELB loans via e-citizen:

The easiest way to pay for your HELB loans is via HELB USSD code*642# as follows: 

1) Dial *642# 

2) select1( Login )


3) Select option 5 ( Loan Repayment)


4) Choose option 4(Repay loan)


5) Select Mode of Payment 1 (Mpesa)


6) Indicate (Full or pay specific amount)


7) Enter Amount 

8) Confirm the amount transaction 1(Yes)

9) You will then receive a pop up from ecitizen with an invoice number, amount and Paybill 

10) Enter your M-Pesa PIN and send 

If the transaction was successful you will receive a message from HELB acknowledging the receipt for the payment.
