Jielimishe loan from Helb

The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) of Kenya has recently introduced The HELB Jielimishe loan to help salaried individuals who want to advance their education to have access to loans from HELB.








The Jielimishe loans will be available to salaried individuals such as Civil servants , KRA employees, phD students, Masters students, Bachelors degree students and post graduate diploma students as follows:

1. Civil Servants
  • Loan amount from ksh 30,000 to ksh 500,000
  • Interest rate  4%
  • Duration 1 year 
  • Repayment period 72 months 
2. KRA employees
  • Loan amount from ksh 30,000 to ksh 500,000
  • Interest rate 4%
  • Duration 1 year 
  • Repayment period 72 months 
3. PhD students
  • Loan amount from ksh 50,000 to ksh 200,000
  • Interest rate 12% 
  • Duration 3 years 
  • Repayment period 48 months 
4. Masters degree students
  • Loan amount from ksh 50,000 to ksh 200,000
  • Interest rate 12%
  • Duration 2 years 
  • Repayment period 48 months
5. Bachelors degree students
  • Loan amount from ksh 50,000 to ksh 100,000 
  • Interest rate 12%
  • Duration 4 years 
  • Repayment period 48 months 
6. Postgraduate Diploma students HR
  • Loan amount from ksh 50,000 to ksh 100,000
  • Interest rate 12% 
  • Duration 3 years 
  • Repayment period 48 months 
Requirements

  • Admission letter from a recognised university or training institution in Kenya
  • Certified copy of National ID ( Certified by commission of oath 
  • Certified copy of KRA PIN ( Certified by commission of oath
  • Certified copies of National ID from two guarantors employed within your institution KRA/Civil servants
  • A copy of 3 months latest payslips with a net pay above 1/3 of basic pay 
  • Recently taken colored passport size photo 
  • Recommendation letter from employer
  • Certified copies of last acquired academic certificates
