PayPal users can now transfer money from their PayPal accounts to their MPESA accounts in a move to link the two accounts.
For one to be able to transfer money from PayPal account to MPESA account and vice versa , must have both MPESA and PayPal accounts. The accounts must be linked.
How To Transfer Money From PayPal To MPESA Account.
- Open the PayPal account
- Click on "Withdraw"
- Your available balance will be displayed in USD if in any other currency change it to USD.
- Enter the amount you wish to withdraw in USD
- You will be directed to a page showing the amount you will receive in ksh ,exchange rate etc
- Confirm and complete the transaction.
How To Transfer Money From MPESA To PayPal Account.
- Login into your PayPal account
- Click on "Top up "
- Enter the amount you wish to transfer to PayPal in USD and click " Calculate "
- You will get the equivalent amount in kes which is required to be transfered from the MPESA account.
- Open MPESA menu
- Select Lipa na MPESA
- Select PAYBILL
- Enter Business no: 800088
- Enter phone number as account number
- Enter the amount calculated
- Enter MPESA PIN and press OK
N/B Transactions for transferring money from PayPal to MPESA takes 2 to 3 hours,while from MPESA to PayPal takes 4 hours to be completed.
You need to check each account to confirm the transactions.
