Job Title : Agronomist

As a member of the Community Affairs team, successful candidate will report to the Community Programmes Superintendent. He/she will be responsible for providing technical support, advice and assistance to field staff and farmers involved in Base’s community livelihood programmes, assisting with the oversight of the implementation of all livelihood projects either directly or through its contractors and ensuring the efficient administration, planning and implementation of all community livelihood initiatives.

 Key Responsibilities
  • Assisting the Community Programmes Superintendent in supervision, coordination and implementation of BTL livelihood programme.
  • Assisting the Community Programmes Superintendent in coming up with new workable livelihood programmes for the community.
  • Ensuring that all livelihood projects undertaken are done in consultation with the right National departments.
  • Reporting all the updates pertaining to the area of work during liaison meetings and other working groups identified in the Stakeholder Engagement Plan.
  • Ensuring completion of all livelihood projects and documentation of the same.

Qualifications/Requirements
  • A minimum of a Diploma in Agriculture
  • A minimum of 3 years work experience in an agricultural field and preferably in a Supervisory position
  • Good communication and report writing skills.
  • Good leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Computer literacy skills (Microsoft Office).
  • A valid Kenyan driving license would be an advantage.
  • A “Can Do“ attitude.
