Since the announcement of the first Corona virus case in the country, the number for positive cases has been rising each day. Yesterday the country recorded 152 cases of COVID-19 from a sample of 3503 bringing the total number of positive cases in the country to 3457.

The Government locked down Nairobi and Mombasa Cities in a move to contain the movement of people out of these cities as they continue to register lager number of positive cases.
As of yesterday, Nairobi was leading with a total of 1,546 positive cases followed by Mombasa 1020 cases. Busia and Kajiado have recorded 308 and 106 positive cases respectively.
So far 38 counties out of the 47 have recorded COVID-19 positive cases. This is alarming and more measures has to be taken to contain the spread of the disease.
Yesterday alone Nairobi recorded 70 cases while Mombasa had 41 cases. This still shows that the two cities are still leading in the number of COVID-19 infections. Nairobi and Mombasa has been the hotspots for the virus since the discovery of the first case in the country.
The Hotspot areas for COVID-19 in Nairobi and Mombasa are as follows:
Nairobi Kenya
1)Eastleigh
2) Mathare
3) Kawangware
4) Umoja
5) Kibera
In Mombasa the leading ares are:
1) Mvita - Old town
2) Kisauni
3) Changamwe
4) Nyali
5) Likoni
Yesterday alone Nyali had 14 cases, Mvita 10 , Likoni 7 , Kisauni 6 and Changamwe 4 cases.
The government has rolled out mass testing in these hotspots for the two counties. There is also fumigation of all public places to try contain spread of the disease.
The ministry of Health still encourage people allover the country to continue wearing masks, wash hands frequently and sanitize and never to forget to hydrate themselves. We still have hope to win this war. Together we shall overcome.
