Coronavirus ( COVID-19) is now in Kenya after its first case was confirmed on 13th March 2020.
In an advise to the public, the President on Sunday 15th March 2020 encouraged the use of mobile money among other cashless means and avoid cash as its prone to contacting the disease. He also urged cash less providers to reduce transaction charges.
Kenyatta was addressing the public at Harambee House when he stated that two more cases of the disease have been confirmed in the country.

How To Protect and Prevent The Spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19)


According to the Ministry of Health Kenya, following are the protective and preventive measures for Coronavirus COVID-19 :

  • Wash your hand with clean soap water  or use hand sanitizer that contains alcohol 70%.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands 
  • Avoid Public gathering
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick 
  • Stay at home if you are sick 
  • Cover your mouth and nose with tissue when you cough or sneeze or use the inside of your elbow
  • Wear facemask if you are sick or caring for someone who is sick 
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces
  • Avoid sharing house items such as cups,beddings ,towels etc
  • If you believe that you have been exposed to Coronavirus COVID-19 stay calm and contact healthcare provider immediately.
