Murang'a University of Technology is a leading university in Murang'a county strategically located 1.5 km from Murang'a Town. In its effort to improve services delivery to students the university created an online portal where students can access all services provided by the university such as Unit registration, hostel booking, exams results, fee statement among other services. New students have to register before they can interact with the portal.

How To Register with the Student portal

This is the step by step process on how to register with the student portal:

  • On your browser visit: www.portal.mut.ac.ke 
  • A student login page will appear
  • Click on "Create an account" 
  • A new window will appear
  • Enter your Registration number
  • Enter a password ( Of your choice) 
  • Re-enter the password
  • Click on " Submit "
The ICT staff will then activate your credentials and thereafter you will be able to login with the Registration number and the password you created.

How To Login 

After successful registration on the portal , students can now freely login to access the services.
This is how to do it: 
  • On your browser visit: www.portal.mut.ac.ke 
  • A student login page will appear
  • Enter your Registration number
  • Enter your password
  • Click  on "login" 
The student portal will open for you to access all the services provided.

How To Reset Password/ Forgotten password

Some students forget their login passwords and it becomes difficult for them to access the portal or rather its safe to regularly change your password for security reasons.

This is how to reset / Change your password
  • On your browser visit: www.portal.mut.ac.ke 
  • A login page will appear
  • Click on the Forgot Password link to reset password
  • Enter your Registration number
  • Click on " Email Link" 
  • Follow the rest of the simple instructions to renew your password
