The Commonwealth Commission in the United Kingdom is offering (37) full scholarships for Kenyan students to take Masters or PhD courses in the UK universities starting from Oct 2020. This is an excellent opportunity for Kenyan students who had dreams of studying in the UK.

Scholarship Eligibility


  • For Masters degree Scholarship, applicants must be holders of Bachelor's degree certificate of at least upper 2nd class honours and state the source of funding at undergraduate level
  • For PhD scholarship, applicants must be holders of a very good masters degree
  • Have two referees for recommendations
  • Applicants must be serving in the country in the public sector 
  • Applicants must be below 35 years of age for Masters and 45 yrs for PhD
  • Priority for phD Scholarships will be given to teaching staff in the public universities

Duration of the scholarships

  • One (1) year taught masters degree courses
  • Doctoral degrees of up to 3 years 

How To Apply

1. The applications for this scholarships are done by first obtaining a Preliminary Scholarship Application Form from the ministry of education ( Kenya) by downloading it from the ministry website.
2. Apply online at the Commonwealth scholarships website.
3. Complete the online application form (Electronic Application System) EAS then download and print three sets before submitting it electronically to the Commonwealth commission
4. Duly fill the Preliminary Application form and together with one set of the EAS and certified copies of ID, academic/ professional certificates, Birth certificate and other testimonials and a proposal in the area of study and send them to the address below:
