MbeleNaBiz Business plan competition is a Kenya Government initiative under the Kenya Youth Empowerment and Opportunities Project (KYEOP) which is supported by the World Bank.
The initiative is to support young entrepreneurs to create and grow their businesses as this will further creat employment for other youth. The project is set to benefit more than 750 youth businesses from all the 47 counties. Selected businesses will be awarded grants of between ksh 900,000 to ksh 3,600,000.

Eligibility / Requirements


  • The program is open to all kenyan youths from new and existing youth led enterprises from all the 47 counties 
  • The program also accept applications from young Kenyans living in diaspora if their proposed businesses will operate in Kenya.
  • Youth should be aged between 18 to 35 years of age
  • Youth level of education should be Form 4 and above 

How To Apply

Applications can be submitted in two ways as follows:

1. Online application
Visit www.mbelenabiz.go.ke to find the link to apply online.

2. Paper application
For those without access to internet can submit their paper applications through Youth Development Officer.

Applications deadline: 2nd Sept 2019 

N/B There is no application fee, so do not make any payment to apply to the competition.
