Uwezo Fund for Women Youth and Disabled persons

Uwezo Fund is a Government programme where finances are made available to Youth, Women and Persons with disabilities to promote their businesses and ideas for their well being.

Uwezo Funds are available at the constituency level and applications for Uwezo Funds are open throughout the year.


Who is Eligible for Uwezo Fund 


  • Uwezo Fund is available to groups or institution and not to individuals
  • The group must be registered with the Department of Social Services, Cooperatives or Registrar of Societies
  • Group must have members of age between 18 - 35 years 
  • The group must be based at the constituency it seeks to apply for the funds 
  • Evidence of monthly contribution for the group is required
  • The group must have a bank account in the name of the group.

How To Apply For Uwezo Fund 

  1. The group must get the application form from the Constituency Uwezo Fund Management Committee office or CDF offices or download the form from Uwezo fund website.
  2. Fill the form accurately and submit it together with all relevant documents to the Constituency Uwezo Fund Management Committee and wait for a response from the committee.

N/B The expected amount of fund depends more on the amount of savings the group have, usually the fund granted will be 3 times the amount of savings but shall not be less than ksh 50,000 and not more than ksh 500,000.
