An exciting opportunity is now open at Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) as follows;
Teachers / Tutors are invited to apply before 29th of March 2019 for an opportunity to train to be examiners and markers at KNEC for the year 2019 exams.
The training will take place between 13th and 17th April 2019 and it will be residential.

Categories
Qualified applicants will be trained in the following categories:- KCPE Examiners
- KCSE Examiners
- PTE Examiners
- ECDE - proficiency Examiners
- DTE Examiners
- Business and Technical examination Examiners
Requirements
All applicants must have the following documents:
- A copy of National I D/ passport
- Copy of TSC registration Certificate
- Copies of academic and professional certificates
- Bank deposit slip of ksh 10'500 fees for training
- Copy of KRA pin card
Eligibility
General qualifications
For one to qualify for any category must at least have the following:
- Must be 50 years of age and below
- Must be registered with TSC
- Be a practicing teacher in the relevant subject applied for at the level of examination.
- Minimum teaching experience of 3 years
- Have a letter of recommendation from the head of current institution or organization.
For KCPE & KCSE examiners
- Have minimum qualification of P1 for KCPE with a minimum of a C plain at KCSE level in the subject they are to train for.
- Diploma in Education and above for KCSE Markers.
For ECDE|PTE|DTE examiners
- At least one level above the qualification of examination
- Those with Masters degree but teaching in secondary schools can apply to be trained as PTE and DTE examiners
- Teachers with Diploma in ECDE and P1 Certificate will have an added advantage.
Subjects examiners to be trained on
Applicants will be trained in the following subjects.
- KCPE examination
Primary school teachers will be trained for the following:
- English composition 901/ 1
- Kiswahili Insha 902/ 1
- English composition for SNE 903/ 1
2. KCSE examination
Secondary school teachers to train as KCSE examiners in the following papers:
- English 101/ 1, 2, & 3.
- Kiswahili 102/ 1, 2, &3.
- Biology 231/ 1, 2 & 3.
- Chemistry 233/ 1 ,2& 3.
- History and Government 311/ 1&2.
- Geography 312/ 1&2.
- CRE 313/ 1&2.
- IRE 314/ 1&2.
- Agriculture 443/ 1&2
- Arabic 503/ 1&2.
- Business studies 565/1&2.
3. ECDE examination
Tutors in Early Childhood teachers colleges to train as examiners in the following subjects:
- English proficiency 8011/ 1
- Arithmetics 8011/ 2
- General paper 8012
4. DTE examination
Diploma tutors will train in the following:
- Education 9501
- Physical education 9502
- English 9503
- Kiswahili 9504
- Arabic 9506
- CRE 9510
- Music 9515
- Mathematics 9516
- Physics 9517
- Chemistry 9518
- Biology 9519
- Agriculture 9521
- Home Economics 9520
Application procedure
All applicants are expected to access the Kenya National Examination Council website, fill in their personal details , print the form and complete section 2 and 4 manually.
Attach all the testimonials required and post it so as to reach the council on or before 29th April 2019.
Teachers who already trained as examiners need not to apply for the training.
