•  Monitor creditor’s ledgers, and assets register to verify their accuracy;
  •  Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports;
  •  Prepare and verify vouchers and expenditure reports in accordance with the laid down rules and regulations;
  •  Carry out routine accounting tasks such as balancing of cashbooks, imprest and advances ledgers;
  •  Ensure safe custody of Government records and assets to prevent fraud and wastage of Government's assets;
  •  Receive duly processed payments and receipt vouchers to keep under safe custody for auditing purposes;
  •  Writing cheques and posting payments and receipt vouchers as directed by the Accountant I.

Requirements for Appointment
  •  Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Economics, Business Administration/Management or any other relevant qualification from a recognized University AND Certified Public Accountant Part I
  •  Certified Public Accountant Part II
In addition, candidates must be:
 1.Computer literate;
  2. Demonstrate budgeting skills;
 3. Demonstrate knowledge of professional standards;
  • One (1) year of working experience as an Accountant or its equivalent from a reputable organization;
  •  Meet the requirements of Chapter six of the Constitution of Kenya.
