2019 Kenyan students Agha Khan Foundation scholarships

The Aga Khan Foundation is now accepting applications for scholarships consideration for the year 2019.
The Agha Khan Foundation provides a limited number of scholarships every year for postgraduate students from selected developing countries who have no other means of funding their studies.

Aga Khan Foundation scholarships are awarded on a 50% grant and 50% loan basis through a competitive application process done one in a year.


  • Preference is given to students under the age of 30 years 
  • Foundation accept applications for nationals who live in countries where there is Aga Khan Foundation local offices like in Nairobi Kenya.
  • The foundation accept applications from the following countries: Kenya, Uganda, India , Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan and siria.
  • Have an excellent academic record
  • Have genuine financial need 
  • Excellent in extra curricular achievement and career plan.
How To Apply
  • Applications , selection and interviews are decentralised to the local Aga Khan Foundation developing countries.
  • Students should obtain application form as from 1st Jan each year from the Agha Khan Foundation offices in their countries of residence.
  • Students should duly fill the application forms and return them to the offices obtained.
Application deadline
The deadline for the 2019 applications is on 31st March 2019, though in some countries deadlines might be a little earlier to review the applications.

N/B  Candidates should be aware that half of the considered scholarship amount is a loan which is repaid with an annual service charge of 5%.
