CONCRETE QUALITY CONTROLLER

Bamburi Special Products Limited is looking to employ Two Concrete Quality Controllers to join our team. The position will be based in Nairobi and will report to Quality Manager-Bamburi Special Products Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for:-

1. Ensuring adherence of Quality Control resources (people, plant and equipment) to LafargeHolcim Group Health and Safety policies, standards, advisories, guidelines and rules at all times.
2. Implementing safety procedures and policies relating to Laboratory and site operations such as Job Safety Assessments, Material Safety Data Sheets, Operating instructions, signage and product labeling.
3. Managing the activities of the Quality Control laboratories.
4. Coordinating and optimizing concrete mix designs by supervising continuous test programs, results validation,analysis and interpretation.
5. Ensuring that the right quality concrete is delivered to the customer as per their specifications and applications.
6. Ensuring quality of raw materials through continuous inspection, sampling and testing.
7. Ensuring laboratory accuracy through calibration and maintenance of testing equipment.
8. Investigating and ensuring timely closure of customer complaints.
9. Conducting or overseeing destructive and non-destructive tests at client sites.
10. Providing technical support and advising customers on basic quality standards and procedures.
11. Engaging customers for feedback and conducting customer satisfaction surveys.

Minimum Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:
• Bachelors degree or Higher National Diploma in Civil Engineering.
• Experience: > 5 years experience in building and construction.
• Solid knowledge of concrete mix designs, properties and testing including constituent materials.
• Knowledge of local and international quality standards and technical specifications on concrete, constituent materials and applications.
• Precise results monitoring, analysis and reporting.
• Good communication, project management and organization skills.
• Accuracy and attention to details.
• Ability to work under minimum supervision.
